David In regards to your entry on the 10th. My grandson’s wife went to McDonalds and applied for a job. The manager who talked to her had to get an interrupter to speak to her. I called the corporate headquarters and complained. A few days later she was hired. However the first day there they would not teach her anything while the Mexican employees stood back and talked to each other in Spanish. She asks for help and they laughed at her. She got made and quit. The Corporate headquarters told me they believe in diversity. I told them that one white and 6 Mexicans is not diversity. They said they would look into it. I have a form that I am filing with the US Attorney regarding this. Chief Engler got it for me. This McDonalds is owned by a Mexican. Most of them in there speak very little English. So much for doing something about the illegals. They are taking over Payson.
Check the numbers there were only a couple of times they did not agree and they were minor. I could be wrong but I saw the numbers some place during the election. Of course we know who Edwards puppets were. I think maybe Pat and Dean were great puppets for Edwards. Get a life Shields, can't take a joke.
How can Ed Blair be wrong he was a running mate with Bob Edwards, twice. I wonder if Bob agrees with him. They always agreed on everything. Ha! smile Pat just had to mention it.
Leave it to the Irish to cut through the c--- and make the whole issue crystal clear... Thoughts from across the pond.
A point to ponder despite your political affiliation: 'We, in Ireland, can't figure out why people are even bothering to hold an election in the United States.
On one side, you have a pants-wearing lawyer, married to a lawyer who can't keep his pants on, who just lost a long and heated primary against a lawyer who goes to the wrong church and who is married to yet another lawyer who doesn't even like the country her husband wants to run.
Now...On the other side, you have a nice old war hero whose name starts with the appropriate 'Mc' terminology married to a good looking younger woman who owns a beer distributorship.
What in Lord's name are ye lads thinking over there in the colonies??
Pat I had forgotten that but I would NOT hate it if we were related. I have members of my family that I wish I was not related to, I think we all do. If you will send me an e-mail address we can discuss the possibility. My main hobby is genealogy and you know why. I am always looking for links. I think we could have some fun with it and keep the politics out of it. Ha
Tom I posted my thoughts on in the Community forum about the Coward who put the comments about the police officers in the Rant @ Rave section of the other paper. Don't know if you saw it or not. These cowards make me sick that hide iin the shadows and make comments without using their names. Those kind of people would not make a pimple on a police officers ------. I do know that Chief Gartners orginal article was longer but the Round up cut it back to the 450 words. Still it was a very powerful article and so true. Thanks for your comments in support of the officers. I have had officers that had to shoot someone in the line of duty and they were never able to come back to work. They have never gotten over it. I had one who killed himself a few months later and the shooting he was involved in saved another persons life.
Chief42 Since you were in California were you involved in the Watts Riots. If so I was there also. They sent a bunch of us down to L.A. to Assist the local law enforcement. What a mess that was. If you were there we could have been working together and not even known it. My Sheriff Frank Bland was always sending us someplace to help out. Our job was to protect the fire trucks. It is intersting to know something about those of us who are on here because it adds a lot. There are many very smart people in Payson who have retired here from all occupations. It amazes me how many policemen and firemen are here.
Pat I started my career as a deputy in San Bernardino County California in 1962. Moved to Texas in 1971. I was a Police Chief in Texas for two different cities and then was Chief Deputy for a County in Texas. Before becoming a Chief of Police I worked my way up through the ranks which included Chief of Criminal Investigations. During that time I completed my Criminal Justice education and also graduated from the FBI National Academy and taught Criminal Justice part time for a local college for 15 years. After retirement I was hired by Dow Chemical as there Chief of Security for their Texas Operations. After 911 I was ask to head up a security group for the Petrochemical Industries in the Houston area. This group is made up of 130 Chemical and Refineries in the Houston area. Dow, Shell, Exxon, DuPont, Phillips, Lubrizol, etc. I full time assignment was to work with the FBI and DPS and Coast Guard and Homeland Security set up security for the industry in light of 911. This required I testified twice before the Homeland Sanctity Department in Washington on security in the chemical industry. After retirement from Dow I became a Security Consultant and was client manager for the Port of Houston and Port of L.A. and several chemical companies. I still am a consultant for several counties and cities in New Mexico and several of the Pueblos and other tribes in New Mexico. Since my wife’s stroke in March I now confine myself to small jobs that do not require much travel. I am now writing All Hazards Emergency Operations Plans for the Native American Tribes. I enjoy the slow pace of this work. This is more than you wanted to know I am sure. As far as the man who died. It is not fair for me to comment on this investigation the police are investigating it and then we will know. I think Chief42 has done a good job answering the other questions. They will follow the law in any regard. If you will call Chief Engler he will tell you anything he can. You have to have been a police officer to understand what they go through.
