One of our extended family members was denied a job at the local McD's because she wasn't bilingual. No big deal, except she couldn't speak to the other staffers, who weren't English speakers, which was the cause for the non-hire. Sounds like a high profile discrimination lawsuit to me and I'd jump all over it had it happened to me, but our family member has a lot more class than me. Lots more.

For once Pat, we agree. Not only keep our US dollar here within our borders, but also keep our troops here as well. Close all our military bases down oversees. Bring our boys and girls home. By securing our borders we can effectively keep the wordly miscreants off of our soil quite nicely. If other governments want our protection, let 'em ask and pay us, not the other way around. Keep up the humanitarian disaster work, but not financial aide. We have enough troubles within our own borders to keep us plenty busy for 7 generations. Teach those of other countries HOW to work, not just how to extend their hands outward for subsidized living.

From my corner of life, I am firmly against same-sex marriages, unions, or whatever else you wish to call them. It is against the natural order of life. To me, it is that simple. To those who wish to participate in that lifestyle, that is their decision and theirs alone and I will not judge their behavior, that will happen after they pass through the thin veil of mortality.

But to be punished in the judicial system over those beliefs is an affront to all. How many law suits against small business owners have there been because the owner stated to a gay couple a particular service would not be extended? Then to have that couple file a lawsuit claiming prejudice...and win. Maybe I could go along with that decision if federal monies were somehow involved, but for mom/pop stores being gouged by those whose lifestyle is different than mine is flat out wrong.

And yes, there have already been documented incidences where perverts have legally wed animals in other countries. The root malady is called bestiality.

Prop 102...a strong yes vote to define and define only the marital union partners.

Gee Don, I've already sent in my early ballot and had I known about these insightful truths, I wouldn't have thrown my vote away for that other guy! Wonder if I can go find my ballot and shred it up?

Just saw on the news something about fraudulent voter registration in Philadelphia in which gutter people are being sought out by a group called ACORN. Conservative estimates indicate 10K fraudulent registrations is expected. Wonder whose side ACORN is on, anyway...

Thanks for the enlightened tidbits from your post. I'm sure many on this board will now see the light and that Obama is the only true candidate to guide this diverse country into the proverbial black hole.

Another thought is about racism. With all the framework, foundation and steps in overcoming racism, ever think about who is keeping it alive and well? I have some speculative thoughts, but nothing concrete. And to the board community, this is NOT a dart in the direction of Obama, just a thought I've had for quite some time. I still can't fathom why some people condemn another solely for the color of their skin. Makes no sense to me.

"One has to wonder, when a statement is started with, "I am not homophobic nor do I dislike those with "alternative lifestyles", why it is that the person feels he must begin by defending himself."

Dean, that statement was a point of clarification, not defense. Homophobia is an unreasonable fear of homosexuality, ie..."I am afraid of that person because he/she is gay/lesbian." A person's sexual orientation is their choice and I can live with that. Doesn't make me a hypocrite, I just don't agree with their lifestyle. As also stated by me, I do have family members and friends who live the alternative lifestyle. I embrace them and kiss them, just as any family member would, so no, I am not homophobic.

Legal, illegal, right and wrong. As we all know, something may be legal but still be wrong. My stand against same sex marriage is with that institution, NOT the people. For some, this is a difficult concept to grasp.

One needs only look at what our Founding Fathers did in setting up this Republic of ours. It was built on the faith of God, who drove these valiant men to such action of rebellion against a repressive tyrant.

For me, Prop 102's core concept is to keep the sanctity of marriage only between one man and one woman.

The opponents to Prop 102 only argument is about money and personal entitlements, no more, no less.

Blogs are a wonderful form of communication, except that if one doesn't keep up with the conversation constantly (such as me, too many other commitments), clarifying points are long in coming and unnecessary feelings of being ignored may arise. Apologies to the blog community in that regard.

For a truly serious topic, I would heartily suggest checking out the following link (http://www.yesformarriage.com:80/)as it pertains to keeping marriage soley between a man and a woman.

I am not homophobic nor do I dislike those with "alternative lifestyles". I personally and strongly believe that type of lifestyle is plain wrong and immoral. I have family members who have strayed from the path of principled living, and I love them dearly.

Regarding those who will rebut with something akin to "what happens in the privacy of one's bedroom is no-one's affair", I say bull***t.

Our nation has been on a cascading immoral avalanche for several generations and picking up speed.

California voters soundly defeated their proposal which would have banned same sex marriage. A judge with an agenda promptly overthrew the will of the people, opening the floodgates to what is happening now.

Arizona does not want that to happen. Moral Arizonan's strongly desire to create an Amendment to our state Constitution in which a lawful, marital union only exists between one man and one woman.

Votes are highly private affairs. But I am not afraid nor hindered in my desire in voting for the marital union between one man and one woman.

In some parts of the world, moral deviants are legitamizing marital unions between humans and lower life forms. Use your imagine, it ain't hard.

Should Prop 102 fail, expect to see similar marital unions in this country, as it will be legal to do so.

Am I scared? You bet yer bippy I am! Scared for what our ancestry will have to endure in a couple generations of time.

Not only is "d" the most likely outcome in this scenario, the preschool's parent company(s) will spend several million dollars researching how this travesty occurred in the first place.

I say let's quit appeasing the parents lack of parental obligations, and tell the parent they need to follow the path behind door "a", as well as how to be a parent, not their child's best friend.

And after spending that insane amount of $$$ for nothing when it should be going to the kids anyway, numerous specialists will be hired to make sure this type of adverse learning environment never happens again.

Yup, 4-year olds are so worldly and knowledgable that this type of treatment shouldn't be allowed, as it will upset their inordinate view of life.

My facitious take on this comic episode.

Hi all, guess I need to read this blog more often as well as the paper. So, I work for the sheriff's office again? Wonder when this happened? I wonder if I became disallusioned with the PD or if the county was able to match my current paygrade? All said tongue-in-cheek. Guess I better go see what the letter said. Until then...have a great day.
