Tonight's paper covers the dismissal of the PHS boy's soccer coach. According to the article, the coach was not given a specific reason why he was being fired.

This smacks very typical of how the district does business. Principal Roy Sandoval is quoted by the coach as saying that complaints had been received by the superintendent and the board. Sandoval asks for community support, but gives no details.

Once again a school district employee is smeared by rumor and politics.

Wholly deserves to know waht the specific charges are against him. Now as a public issue, we all deserve to know.

Watch now as the district hides behind "personnel matters" and goes tight lipped.

The last person in town who had to have bodyguards was that con man who wanted the school district let him build them a new school. Any comparisons???

Ambria's comments may be from the mouth of babes. Does such a double standard exist? Yes. Is it an abuse of power? Yes. Would Mr. Horton care? No. He's actually following a line of board members who have used their positions for self-interested issues. Maybe Horton should stand up at a board meeting and apologize for involving himself in matters that are not in the role of a board member?

Black helicopters have been signted, based out by the fish hatchery. There was also a late night paratroop drop west of town. Any time now the one world government forces will be marching on Payson, ending American democracy as we know it.

This will lead to our introduction to the aliens from another world who are engineering the whole plot.

I think we should elect Mike Horton as Mayor and send Him out to greet the occupation forces.

Hunting is a ritual and rite of passage in the Rim Country. Look at the many pictures of children posing with their dead animal.

I love meat, and if people want to hunt, ok. But in the Rim Country it is elevated to a spiritual level.

    Kind of scary!

Good post David. But it just re-generates the question; why release one "good teacher" and not another. Isn't the school district under investigation because of their special education program? I hear that a former teacher has even filed a lawsuit. You would think that they would want to keep the good teachers, especially in this area. It does seem like a double standard is at work with releasing teachers from their contracts.

Friday's paper relates the local school board (Mike Horton owned and operated) approving a mid-year resignation, when they just denied two others.

    What's up with that?

Max Foster relates that the other two were not released because they were good teachers. This person has won awards for his teaching, and he gets to go.

Is the board hiding behind executive session and not telling us they had concerns about this latest person??

Maybe the board will learn that they have a habit of being tough on the wrong people. The ones that need toughness tend to rule the roost.

Marijuana is illegal only because there are powerful lobbies in the tobacco and alcohol industry. These groups have no use for legal pot, as it would drain profits away from their intoxicants.
