I will add that a great part of the gay marriage issue is that they wish to claim it's a Constitutional Civil Right.
Last time I looked, the Constitution or Bill of Rights does not even mention "marriage" of any sort. Much less same gender marriage. That was left up to the individual States to define what a legal marriage is.
I want legal plural marriage and I want it now. But my wife won't let me :0

I don't wish to throw a monkey wrench in this very good discussion. But, I just saw on the cable TV news a special report that GUN sales are skyrocketing in the Western and Midwest areas of the country. Was there a boom in the elk population this year?

FYI> The Town P&Z meeting to discuss the approval of the Land Exchange ammendment request by the owners is scheduled for Monday, Nov 10th, 3pm, Town Hall.
Also, the Town has cabashed it's plan to buy the airport land acreage from the new owners. Why? Because the town discovered NEW deed restrictions had been added by the owners which would cause large $$$ road development shared costs by the town. You can read it on Page 2A of the friday Roundup. Those sneaky little details.....

Hey Chief, the Obama tax plan started out at $300K at the begining of his campaign. Then it went down mysteriously to 250K, then 200K. Then Biden (before they locked him up to shut him up) said it was 150K. I think it's at 120K now.Yep that's change all right.

Well, it's done. My hats off to the Obama machine and it's private money funding. As for McCain, he lost me a long time ago, but I did vote his ticket. We Republicans have no one to blame but ourselve's. The last 4 years of Bush and congress have been abysmal to say the least, and I can fully undertsand the frustration and anger of people. I'm one of them. BUT....I reject Obama as my President and leader. Not because of his skin color as some will pronounce, but because of his ideology, his values, his associations, and his actions all during his adult years. His spoken words and actions are the anathema to all that I and millions of others believe and value. Bush as President for eight years was uninspireing to say the least. But he did not deserve the clearly demonstrated hate he received from the left. The platitudes of coming together as a nation under Obama are just that. After years of all that publicly pronounced hatred towards Bush and Conservatives in general, now you expect us to all join hands and support the new president. I'm sorry, I just won't subvert my core belief system just to get along or get a check in the mail. In a way, I feel sorry for Obama. To live a life continually looking over your shoulder cannot be fulfilling or fun. May he be safe and do what is the right thing to do.

Pat, I think you are mostly right. Some people have no agenda other than volunteering to help the community and get nothing but grief (police volunteers:) Some people grouse that some council members should recuse themselve's from certain town decisions due to alleged conflict of interest issues. My only point is that some on the PRAA own business's for profit specific to aviation at OUR airport. Please don't expect me to believe that they do not have a agenda to recommend airport improvements and projects at Town/taxpayer expense to further their personal hobby/business of choice. When the airport becomes financially self sustaining through user fees and aviation related business tax etc. I'll shut up and go away. Really, when was the last time you as a non hobby flying taxpayer used the airport for anything?
The Crosswinds restaurant is good eats.
They are still having trouble with the ambulance helicopter crews and other emergency personell gaining access through the electric gates. New crew people have to be trained continually. I have heard the arguements about how much income the airport generates for the town. Believe it if you wish. Our airport basicly is for airplane hobbyist rereational use and very little commerce flying revenue is generated.
