I wouldn't say that women are more emotional than men. I would say that women are more nurturing than men and this is sometimes mistaken for being emotional. I think men just hide their emotions, but they still have all the same ones that women do. I have noticed that boys who are raised by only their mother tend to be less afraid of showing their emotions than are boys who are raised in a home with both parents. So, I think it is a matter of having the ability to share your emotions rather than a matter of not having them. Am I making any sense?

As far as being a victim, I pity the man that tries to hit me. Victim, I will never be. Not all women are helpless, emotional basket cases. A lot of us modern women know how to take care of ourselves and believe it or not, some of us are even reasonably intelligent.

I respect the police department and the officers that investigated this crime. If there were evidence to support Fish's claim of self defense, I am sure that the defense attorneys had access to it. Since he was found guilty, maybe we should be saying that the attorneys were morons, not the jury. If there were enough evidence, Fish would never have been indicted. Am I correct?

What really bothers me in this whole thread is the attitude against the women's point of view. I asked very logical questions and the only answer I got was basically that the jury members were idiots. The justice system we have works. If it didn't, it would have been changed a long time ago.

    Tom,
I did not say anything about testosterone in my posts. What I said was, there must have been evidence against Fish, otherwise why would a jury unanimously vote him guilty. To me, that was a very logical question - for a woman!!! No one who has posted on here was at the trial day after day to hear what evidence there was, so all of us are just speculating. If you recall, I also stated that I felt Fish should have been charged with a lesser offense and received a lesser sentence. People who arm themselves with a weapon just can not go around shooting people as a first line of defense. This is not the wild, wild west anymore. We are suppose to be civilized. From all the posts I've read and the newspaper articles, I think Fish over reacted and used poor judgement. Using a gun against another person should be a last resort, not your first choice.

I don't know about anybody else, but I have enjoyed hearing what others think on this subject. I try to keep an open mind and really think about the other posts and the point or points the author of the post is trying to make.
Pat, if you can't remember what you were going to say, maybe it wasn't that important? (joking, not attacking) (-:

After doing some real hard thinking, I think that maybe instead of second degree murder, they should have charged Fish with one of the manslaughter charges and given him a lesser sentence. I don't think he should be absolved of all guilt, because I believe he over reacted and used poor judgement. I have certainly been guilty of that myself, but thankfully never killed anybody. For what it's worth, that's my opinion.

Tom, it seems you are the only one that believes Harold Fish was railroaded. (On this board anyway) And you are certainly entitled to your opinion. I, personally don't believe he was. I did not know either man, I just base my opinion on what I have read. I believe in our justice system. There was evidence, such as what the coroner reported in his testimony. Mr. Fish shot Mr. Grant three times!! Not once to stop him, but three times. You will never convince me that was self defense. Apparently, I am in agreement with the jury.
