- It was a pleasant surprise this morning when I went outside to retrieve the morning newspaper — the ground was white! According to all the weather reports we heard over the past few days, Tonto Village and Payson were not going to get any snow. The snow was not even an inch deep, but with the wind blowing around it was downright chilly! The temperature read about 29 degrees on my front porch, but it sure felt colder than that. My beagle did not want to even peek her head out the door.

- What a surprise! Monday morning we looked out the window and the ground was white! During the night there was rain and then some hail (that was kind of loud, we have a metal roof) and after that, it was quiet, so we could finally get some sleep, and we did not expect snow. It wasn’t much, maybe a quarter inch or so, but it was a surprise.
