Name: Bud Evans
School and subjects taught: Payson High School — Computers
College degree and major: Two associates of science from the community college of the Air Force, MBA from William Cary University, Mississippi
Years teaching: Six in the Air Force, second year at PHS
Why do you teach? My calling and talents are in teaching. I can be home at nights and weekends.
Personal motto: Borrowed from scouting: “Be prepared”
Family: Kathleen, wife; Steven, 21-year-old son; Megan, 17-year-old daughter; John, 13 year-old son.
Pet Peeve: Disrespect, being late, not doing your best
Favorite hobby or leisure activity: Family, camping, fishing, hunting, traveling.
Person in history you’d most like to meet and why: Lord Baden-Powell, the father of the scouting organization. I would like to inspire and lead like him.
Why Payson? Climate is mild. Small hometown for my kids who were dragged across the world.
Favorite teacher: Doug Fullerton was the “dummies” math teacher. He taught me that I wasn’t dumb.
Favorite subject: I always looked forward to choir. There were no tests and there were plenty of pretty girls.
Favorite year in school: My senior year. Easy classes, I knew how to have good, clean fun, and I ditched school to go fly.
