Bounty of Beauty

Winter rains have produced one of the best desert wildflower seasons in many years. Wildflowers, like these Mexican Goldpoppy and other flowers, are near their peak at the Tonto National Monument, near Roosevelt Lake. The best time for viewing is early and late in the day.

The reliable wildflower areas statewide are recording a bumper crop this year - places like Organ Pie National Monument near the mexican border and Picacho Peak State Park south of Phoenix.
