Dogs and their people won’t want to miss Dog Day in the Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 in the Off-Leash Dog Park at Rumsey Park on North McLane Road. It will be bigger and better than ever this year, with great activities and events. Booths include the Barkery Bakery Bistro, Susie Q’s Barbecue, PAWS sweatshirts and Payson Humane Society micro-chipping and adoptable pets. KRIM Radio will be broadcasting live during the event. Contests include Top Tail Wagger, Best Canine Vocalist, Clever Pet Tricks and a new event, Dress Like Your Working Partner where dog and owner will dress according to the work the dog was bred to do. Raffle tickets will be available for a quilt and gift basket. Guests will have an opportunity to buy a section of fencing for the new shelter dog run. See the new shelter design and donate what you can to the building fund. Bring food donations for the dogs and cats, puppies and kittens at the humane society.
