The current edition of Newsweek, April 28, which I have just received has an article which should be required reading for every person in Payson, with specific urgency for the newly elected Mayor and Council.
Page 48, under the "Environment" section, brings an excellent article titled "Rivers Running Dry" which explains the water crisis all over our country. It features a map of the 2005 Groundwater Use Index prepared by Prentice Hall which shows Payson, which is in almost dead center of Arizona, in the "severe overuse" section.
Gordon, my stick is getting bigger and I will keep using it until the people of Payson take off those rose colored glasses and look at the real world.
P.S. Blue Ridge water is probably 15 to 20 years away. You'll be thirsty before that.
