Rice used her visit to praise al-Maliki's choice to take on the militia. Fighting al-Sadr, who has declared that resistance against U.S. forces is legitimate, is an "internal Iraqi matter," she said.
"But, clearly, the prime minister has laid down some ground rules which any functioning democratic state would insist upon, having to do with, you know, arms belonging to the state, not to -- not in private hands," she said. Does she not understand the Constitution she swore to uphold and defend? Second amendment anyone?
I have never understood why Bush decided we needed a woman to negotiate with the Muslim countries. I guess no one ever explained to him what disrespect Muslim men have for women. Particularly women who do not cover their entire bodies with full robes and veils.
Not that I don't respect Secretasry Rice, but she is facing an impossible task, in my opinion.
Absolutely not. She should go back to acadamia and piano concerts. Please give us someone who will work for our country for a change. I am truly sorry that Duncan Hunter didn't get enough press to at least let him have a shot a the top office.
How long has it been since we had a candidate we really WANTED to vote for instead of the lesser of the evils? I'm still trying to decide whether to even vote or not. maybe only to keep one candidate out of the office.
Same old same old - lesser evil!
