"Huppenthal's probation proposal, Senate Bill 1476, grew out of discussions with the Council of State Government's Justice Center, which chose Arizona last year as one of nine states where it would devote resources to help address pressing criminal-justice issues.
Under the plan, which mirrors strategies used in other states, probationers could earn up to 20 days off the term of their probation for every 30 days that they were violation-free."
What a great deal for criminals. 20 days off your sentence for 30 days of "good behavior". Why not add time for bad behavior? Unless we get tough on criminals, we are going to continue to have a crime problem.
There was a man from Tonto Basin on probation that broke the probation twice. I took proof into his probation officer and he got off early. So whats new? This was a few years ago. He also got his real estate license back.
