I don't consider gluing pennies to school property, painting on a newly repaired track, windows, and letting air out of tires a prank.

None of them should be able to participate in the graduation or get any of the scholorships.

If they have been suspended they shouldn't be allowed to take finals and graduate at the same time as the other students. They should have to pay for tutoring or whatever to take thier tests. Pay for all damages including labor time to refill the tires with air.

Let them get away with this and it is setting a bad example for all the rest of the kids.

I can't believe honor students could be so stupid. Did they think they were so smart they were above the law?

Wasn't it last year a girl could not walk up to get her diploma because someone thought her dress was not proper?

Is it what you do, or who you are how the punishment is dispensed.

What kind of police do we have that threaten a student with a more serious crime to make her tell on the rest of them?

I remember when my oldest son was 2 weeks away from graduation and got into a fight. While he was getting his hand put in a cast the Dr. told him. "This week you are a hot shot senior, in 2 weeks you will just be another high school graduate. Grow up !"

According to my friend Mr. Webster,

Prank: A sportive or mischievous act.

Destructive: causing desrtuction, Designed or tending to destroy

According to Pat.
Prank; something everyone will laugh at.
Destructive; being a jerk and deserves punishment.

Pat
For once I wholey agree with you. If the school doesn't do something Payson has got another black eye.The paper said they could take their finals and that way they could still pass, but I agree they should not be allowed to walk down the aisle with the other graduates,It shouldn't make any difference who they belong to.This was just plain out vandalism and should be treated as such. After what they did to another student over a minor infraction(getting kicked out of school for a yr) this has got to be handled for what it was.A felony and malicious vandalism.I agree if they get by with this it shows future students any thing goes.Where were the parents?Probably home sleeping soundly.

Seems that the schools have let things go way to far in trying not to offend anybody. I still feel that strict discipline needs to come back to school at all levels along with a dress code. Young people now seeem to feel that school is a social event and rules do not apply to conduct.

This morning's news showed two seniors who were banned from their senior prom because of the dresses they chose to wear. After seeing them model the dresses, I could undedrstand - they looked like they were going to work at the Mustang Ranch! Another news story related that two high schools had closed down the Senior Proms because the students refused to quit "Dirty Dancing".

I think uniforms at school and RULES on conduct need to return.

Does any parent remind their kids that the taxpayers spend between $10,000 and $12,000 every year from Kindergarden thru High School to give them a free education and they owe the taxpayers respect and thanks rather than vandalism in return.

Throw the book at them!

I think all the students at Payson High School that were present while the vandalism was being done should all be punished the same.
It doesn't matter what age, what sports they played, thier grades, or what part of it they did. The real biggie, it doesn't matter who the parents are !
None of that applies.
They vandalised the property, it was planned, they had a meeting place and they participated or watched. It was not a spur of the moment thing. They had to get the glue and paint sometime before they went there.
They were there, they didn't stop it.

How did they get to the buses? Aren't they in a secure area? Breaking and entering??
I don't see any part of it as being a prank.
If the parents think it is funny, they are sick people.

How much money is it going to cost the rest of us to clean up the mess?

I heard today the school caved in and is going to let the dear little pranksters participate in graduation.
As they receive their diplomas it should be announced this is one of the pranksters!
This takes something away from the kids that were home in bed and not out tearing up school property.

Maybe we need a new school board and administrators in the Payson School District.. Some with some guts to do what is right.

Another thought. Some students have to use wheel chairs or crutches at times. Pennies or nothing else should be glued to the sidewalk.
Even able bodied kids could trip on a glued down penny believe it or not.
