Was on the new Payson website and read where Payson was the festival capital of Arizona. When did we get that designation back? What kind of festivals do we have?
A car show.
2 rodeos.
A walk down Main St on the first Fri. of the month.
Those are festivals?

I agree Pat the new comer don't know what we had here. i think they hope this is good. this town liked what we had back then, we were a party town and people liked that no one got hurt it was fun, When they started coming down on the bars and they all closed it hurt the town. Not one old bar is here any more. They change the oxbow to much and it closed now. There is one old bar left the spur bar in star valley.

Steve we are going to disagree again. I think it is the newcomers that always want alcohol everywhere. All the groups that want to raise money for anything are before the council asking for a liquor permit. We did our drinking in the bars.
There were festivals that didn't have booze as it wasn't allowed.

who wanted to compete with chainsaws and axes at the saw dust festival if they had been drinking alcohol?

Steve, don't they still serve alcohol at 'pete's place' in Star Valley?

I enjoyed going to my grandson's GoKart races and Dwarf car races because they were family affairs and there was no alcohol at most of the tracks.

Pat after the festival was over then the people went down to the bars and dance and what ever .they were the meeting places. the ones that were in the shows were not drinking anyway, and for pete's place yes they do i think.

Steve,
I thought you meant there was alcohol at all the festivals and doin's that were held here.
Yes, I know we went to the bars also if there was a dance.
I am not not the type to sit in a bar and drink . I liked to dance to much.
Rony did his share of drinking while I was dancing.
I don't think there needs to be alcohol at everything the organizations put on here.

I don't think there was alcohol sold at the fund raiser for Jake Randall and they raised over $30,000. I am sure there were people drinking but it was not a means of raising money for the fund raiser.

i agree on that point about all the fun raiser have to sale alcohol. if you want to help you will give to it even if alcohol is not sold.
