Funny how no one wants thier name listed in the paper but will all say there was an illegal meeting, breaking the open meeting law.
Most meetings like the League of cities is posted that there may be a quorum attending. Who slipped up ?
If they were there they are all guilty.
Why didn't any of them report it except to a retired town employee.
So many questions?

This sounds like trying another smear on the out going mayor. How about the council members that were there? Any of them could have raised up out of thier chair and left.

No one wants the incoming mayor to be investigated for possible illegal campaign contributions. Go Figure !

So who do you think was the council member that said: "There's no question it was an illegal meeting."
At least that was in quotes by Pete Aleshire, so who knows? He's been know to "miss-quote" several times before this :)
And who are the council members that keep running to the Roundup with little tid-bits, hoping to discredit Bob Edwards?
Smith was driven to file this complaint by a sense of justice? He said he wants justice?
In my opinion, he is seeking revenge.
Why now? Why bother? Bob Edwards will be gone in a few weeks. Isn't that what they wanted all along?
Maybe Fred Carpenter and Bob Smith just weren't doing their jobs, why is it an "injustice" to replace someone that isn't doing their job?

Smith has been after this for over a year , if the meeting was legal why not say what you did at it,Why did they pay Fred Carpenter, and Bob Smith 4 to 6 month pay when they dismissed them? when you let someone go for a good reason there pay stops the last day you are there. and if you know why they did this say something,

Evidently you don't understand contracts. There are all kinds of stupid clauses in employee contracts.
There have been other employees let go and paid. The town manager before Fred Carpenteer for one.
I think Mr. Smith is still upset over his son losing his job. It has nothing to do with illegal meetings or anything else.
Why didn't he say anything when Rich Underkofffler was let go and paid?

Pat i do understand how contracts work, why all the under the table talks, people have asked for the reason for letting them go , but no one has said why? and it sounded like the ones that got layed off could not talk about it. what's the big deal if they want to lay you off say so and the reason and none of the thing would have been talked about. and the saying goes " I WAS LOOKING FOR A JOB WHEN I GOT THIS ONE"

Sometimes people are fired and the reason can not be made public.

A long time ago Rony had to fire a concrete truck driver because of a dirty drug test. He later went to work driving a school bus in Payson, but because of privacy laws, no one could tell the school.

BUT...are we, the public, not the employer?
I submit anytime a town, county, or public school official/ teacher is fired the employer has the right to know and we the public are that employer. As far as private businees is concerned that is a private matter.

Did you read any reasons why so many teachers have been fired or quit here in Payson. I don't think so.

The law is the law, private or govt.
