It was discussed once before about kids crossing the highway to get to school. Wouldn't it be safer if a traffic light was put at that intersection instead of a roundabout? Has there been an actual traffic count done from Airport Rd or just an estimate and a few people complaining?
People in vehicles don't know how to use them, how do they expect kids to get across the highway with cars going around in circles?

I was almost hit in the roundabout at Home Depot as a delivery truck with a long trailer had to get in the wrong lane to make the turn into Home Depot and still ran upon the curb.
Very poor planning !

I think kids safety is more important than LaRon's pretty little roundabouts.

They need to put in a four way stop at McLane and Airport road. Some people think it is a four way stop now and there have been quite a few near crashes and I don't know how many actual crashes have happened there.

People are saying Payson is a speed trap because of the speed camera in Star Valley. It will soon be known as the idiot Town with traffic traveling in circles and getting nowhere. (:

Mclane and airport.
What idiot would want a stop sign at the bottom of a steep hill? I know, same one that put up the watch for ice and shut off the A/C within 5 miles of each other!

The people that think it is a 4 way stop are the same ones that believe a yellow light means speed up!

Mike
ADOT has nothing to do with Mclane and Airport that is the town of Payson. and for the Ice signs i have seen 4 to 6 Inchs of ice all the way to the bush highway ,and to the Dam on 188. If they put the roundabout at airport and 87, it will be like the one that was put at happy valley rd and 17 way to many cars, trucks and other thing trying to use it. there is about 70% more traffic that will use this one.The school 2or 3 times a day, not good.

Forgot this who is going to do the landscaping in this new roundabout they want the town to look good, the town or who ever has not got the roundabout done at the home depot, it's been over 3 years and nothing done there yet,if it takes this long to landscape these then if they put this one in. How long to landscape this one???

Marylou or Steve whichever it may be, are you saying we may have two idiots, one at the ADOT level as well as one, or more, at the town level?

If the town puts a stop sign at the bottom of a steep hill leaving an industrial complex, then I will agree we have more than one idiot.

Shovelhead,
This idiot would ! Every village has it's village idiot and I am Payson's... People have come up with worse ideas.
McLane was the main highway north out of Payson for decades.
Probably still used by old timers untill some developer put in Payson Pines and had it closed off. It came into the highway past the big curve north of Houston Mesa Rd.
It would have been a good by pass thru Payson if they had left that part and the part at the event center open.
It is a 25 MPH speed limit on Airport Road and trucks or other vehicles including motorcycles should be able to stop at a sign there if they aren't speeding to begin with.

I can't believe no one responded to my first sentence.
You all must be in a mellow mood. (:

I forgot.
If red means stop and green means go what do you think yellow means?
